One Indian batsman who is enjoying his time on the South African pitches is Shikhar Dhawan, as he is churning out consistent performances, especially in the limited-overs series. He scored 323 runs in the six ODIs including two fifties and a century. Tally wise, Dhawan is only behind Virat Kohli who scored 558 runs in the ODI series.
The emotional side of Dhawan
Far away from home, Dhawan is also missing his family back home in India, as is shared by him on his latest Twitter post. In an emotional message, the southpaw points out at the downside of being an international cricketer, a job that requires frequent travel and living away from home. Writing to his family, he expressed how much he missed them.
“Only when u spend so much time away from family, u realize how much u actually miss them!I miss spending time with my kids, playing with them, cooking and being there for them. Also, miss the Mrs like crazy! Want 2 spend quality time with her once I go back. luv u all to d moon & back!”, Dhawan wrote as a caption to his photo with his family on his official Twitter handle on Tuesday.

India on top in the limited-overs series
India could not start their tour of South Africa on a good note, as they lost the Test series 1-2 and came under the scanner for being a strong team only at home. However, they answered the critics by winning the six-match ODI series 5-1 and currently lead the three-match T20I series 1-0. The ODI series win was also India’s first ever bilateral series win in the Rainbow Nation. The second of the three T20Is will be played on Wednesday at the SuperSport Park in Centurion, and the eager beaver Indian captain will look to seize one more series from the hosts.
