Recently, social media was adrift with pictures of a wounded Matthew Hayden. The former Aussie cricketer hurt himself during a family trip in Queensland while surfing. He sustained injuries on the neck and head. The left handed batsman is now on the road to recovery as he receives treatment.

Hayden even shared a picture on social media. The legendary cricketer was seen wearing a neck brace alongside some visible wounds on the head. The 46 year old also fractured and torn ligaments in the nasty accident as revealed by the scans. He spoke about the accident and his process of recovery.

Feel a bit silly as it was an every day innocuous incident

Known for being a fearsome opener during his playing days, Hayden sounded quite optimistic regarding his scans. He mentioned that the doctor he was consulting was the same person who fixed his back injury during 1996.

“Have specialist appointment tomorrow, ironically with the same dude when I last broke my lower back. Sweeping a cricket ball 22 years ago. Feel a bit silly as both then and now were just every day innocuous incident. Guess that’s where the expression, ‘Shit happens’ comes from.” Haydos was quoted as saying by TOI

No ironing, no making beds, I’m loving this list of not to dos

As usual, Hayden had his hilarious bit to say at last. With the recovery period on, the former Australian player asserted that he was enjoying his time resting. He was staying away from all household chores as advised by the professionals apparently.

“Will let you know how things progress. In the meantime, at home I will be milking the injury for all it’s worth. No ironing, no hanging clothes on the line, no making beds…. hahahaha! I’m loving this list of not to dos and the best part, it’s all fully condoned by professionals.” Hayden told.
