Cricketing world was gutted after witnessing the embarrassing ball-tampering act from Aussie players in the third Test against South Africa in Cape Town. Cricket Australia punished the trio (Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft) for their shameful act. However, they will have a chance to challenge the verdict.
Many cricketing legends from Kevin Pietersen to Shane Warne want the ban period to be reduced as the one-year ban seems to be a big one as World Cup 2019 looms ahead and the preparations are necessary for Australian duo to make an impact in the mega tournament.
Among many legends, Pakistan’s Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhtar is the other one who came out with his opinion. He was absolutely gutted to see Smith getting emotional in front of the media after returning to Australia. He wants the media to stay away from the banned skipper for some time.
His tweet read, “At least Steve Smith has the courage to admit like a man but absolutely gutted to see Steve Smith breaking down @ the press conference & also they way people treating him @ Airport & in Australia its sad, leave that poor chap alone now ..”

Banned from playing IPL 2018
After the CA verdict, BCCI also took a harsh step of banning the duo from the upcoming IPL 2018 and many Indian fans are left devastated with the news as their favourite teams lost their respective top players.
Both Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad came up with new captaincy announcements. RR opted to pick Ajinkya Rahane as their new skipper and SRH went with Kane Williamson. It’ll be interesting to see these two teams performance in the coming season.
SRH and RR will face each other on April 9th, Monday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
