Shoaib Akhtar, the former Pakistan fast bowler, has named the better Test batsman between the legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. Even as it’s expected to be a tough task to make a pick between the enigmatic two, the Rawalpindi Express, without much of a hesitation, picked Dravid, also known as ‘The Wall’ of Indian cricket.
On Sunday, January 3, Akhtar, who last played international cricket back in 2011, conducted a question-and-answer session on his official Twitter handle. Bearing in mind his popularity, questions flooded in. Even Boria Majumdar, the famous Indian journalist, reminisced his interview with Akhtar where they talked about Jasprit Bumrah.
To start proceedings of the interactive session, he took to Twitter and wrote, “Q & A for next 20 minutes. Use the hashtag #AskShoaibAkhtar. Will try to respond to as many as possible. Shoot,“ About Dravid and Sachin, a supporter on Twitter wanted to know Akhtar’s opinions on it.
The fan took to Twitter and wrote, “If you have to choose one in test … who it will be … Sachin or Dravid ?!“ Replying to the same, Shoaib named Dravid without wasting much time.

Apart from opining on Dravid and Sachin, Akhtar was also asked to describe Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni in one word. Replying to it, Shoaib wrote, “it’s the name of an era”. In order to describe Rohit in a hilarious manner, he wrote, “Jasay he word market main aata hai toh batata hoon (Will get back to you once I find the word in the market).”
As far as Sachin and Dravid are concerned, the duo used to be stalwarts of the Indian batting unit. Even as Sachin remains as the top run-scorer in the world, Dravid was no less either. Both of them retired at the same time and their legacy even after their retirement has remained.
Dravid and Sachin also showed their versatility while playing in ODI and T20I cricket and also in the Indian Premier League. In his illustrious career, Shoaib has dismissed them quite a few times.
