Pakistan batsman, Umar Akmal was once again overlooked by the national selectors in the list of probables to attend the training camp for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. However, on the other hand, Umar made a shocking revelation and claimed that national coach Mickey Arthur used ‘poor language’ and abused him at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

The cricketer also revealed that chairman of selectors Inzamam-ul-Haq and former spinner Mushtaq Ahmed were both present during the incident. In reply, Arthur termed Akmal’s allegations as a complete rubbish. Former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar expressed his views on the controversial incident through social media. The speedster advised

The speedster advised Akmal to keep all the allegations aside and focus on his performance and come back on the cricket field. Shoaib also accused the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of issuing a show-cause notice to the batter following the spat with the head coach. He feels that the matter should have been handled in a better and calm manner.

“I hope cooler heads prevail in #UmarAkmal #MickyArthur & #PCB saga. We are one team people. Let’s stand united!” Akhtar tweeted.

Respond with your bat

Shoaib suggested Umar that the most appropriate way to reply everybody is through your performance on the cricket field. “@Umar96Akmal best response to critics is on the filed @TheRealPCB a friendly dialogue is always better than a show cause notice,” the former fast bowler said.

The Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday issued a show cause notice to batsman Umar Akmal after the latter’s allegations against the head coach of abusing him during an argument. Akhtar suggested that the PCB reacted in a different way with the present incident and claimed that a “friendly dialogue” would be a lot better than the issue of a show-cause notice to Umar.

I am not at fault

However, Akmal still feels he has done nothing wrong in revealing the truth. “I am not at fault in this matter so I am not worried and I will respond with the truth. They are witnesses to what happened,” he said when asked about the notice.

“I stand by what I told the media earlier today. Mickey Arthur first used poor language and then abused me. Inzamam bhai and Mushtaq bhai (Ahmed) are both witness to this incident at the NCA,” Umar added.
