Watch: Shoaib Akhtar shares a funny anecdote about Rahul Dravid

Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, known for his free-spirited nature, recently shared a very amusing anecdote from his playing days. Akhtar showed no mercy to his opponents but has turned out be a very friendly character. His amusing twitter banters with Virender Sehwag are an example of it.

Being an ex-international, the Pakistani surely has some really interesting stories to share with his fans. And, Akhtar has been quite open about revealing those things not matter whomever it is related. India and Pakistan have been traditional rivals and often get engaged in some fierce cricketing action. It’s no holds barred contest. The build-up, the spectators, the atmosphere makes up for an enthralling experience.

However, not every time Indians and Pakistanis stand at the opposite side of each other. On few special occasions, they are come together, making the moment really special. One such special occasion was during the World Series cricket were the Rest of the World (ROW) team squared up with the might Australia.

The ROW team had a mix of Asian cricketers, two of them were Akhtar and Rahul Dravid. During that series, Shoaib shared the story about Dravid. Shoaib said that before the start of the series Rahul came to him and asked him to bowl him in the nets for practice.

Shoaib obliged and the two headed to the ground for a few throw downs with Dravid. Now, Dravid specifically focussed on the length ball and Shoaib after bowling six-length balls to him wasn’t impressed with the approach and went to the batsman to tel him that he should practice playing short balls instead of the drives as the Australians won’t be bowling such easy deliveries to him.

Akhtar then goes to tell that Dravid reacted saying that he was already low on confidence and these short pitch stuff has now created more doubts in his mind. This narrative had everyone in splits including his former teammate Saqlain Mushtaq.
