The cricketing world was left stunned when the curator of the MCA Stadium was caught revealing the details of the pitch during the sting operation by a news channel. The incident also led to the possibility of the second ODI between India and New Zealand being called off. Many former cricketers criticised Pandurang Salgaoncar and voiced their opinions on the matter. Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar was also not behind and expressed his displeasure on the social media website only to get trolled by the Indian fans.

The curator was caught revealing the pitch details to the undercover reporter and also agreed to prepare the pitch according to the requirement of the bookies. In the video which was made viral by the India Today, he was caught saying that the wicket is full of runs and even the score of 337 would be chased. As it turned out, the batsmen struggled to get going as the wicket slowed down and only a couple of players scored half-centuries. New Zealand posted only 230 batting first which India chased down successfully with six wickets in hand.

Akhtar shocked and speechless

Shoaib Akhtar was left stunned after knowing about Pune pitch controversy and posted a series of tweets on Twitter. He was furious over the issue and demanded a strict action saying that the reputation of the game was damaged. He wrote, “Am shocked and speechless to hear about this new #pitchfixing scandal. #INDvsNZ. He also tweeted, “Even if this is #pitchfixing is rumor or a joke it should be dealt with an iron fist coz the game has already been damaged alot!!

However, the Indian fans were not at all amused with the Pakistani cricketer talking about fixing and trolled him hilariously. While some of them suggested him to look into his own country as far as fixing was concerned, few reminded him that Mohammad Amir was allowed to play despite shaming his own country after being involved in spot-fixing. Some of them also updated him about the quick action taken against the curator and informed him that he was suspended right away.
