Back on April 12, 2010, ace Indian tennis player Sania Mirza and Pakistani all-round cricketer, Shoaib Malik entered wedlock. Following the wedding, Sania was a recipient of severe criticism for getting hitched to someone from across the border. However, the couple has passed the test of times and has given couple goals to many aspirant lovebirds.
To add to their delight, the duo has given birth to their first son today. The neighbouring countries woke up to the news and soon after congratulatory messages poured in for the cross-border duo. Following the arrival for the newborn baby, Malik couldn’t hold on to his excitement and took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express his delight and happiness.
The name means in Arabic
He wrote, “Excited to announce: Its a boy, and my girl is doing great and keeping strong as usual #Alhumdulilah. Thank you for the wishes and Duas, we are humbled #BabyMirzaMalik .” Recently, Shoaib and better-half Sania revealed the name of their boy. After much consultation, they zeroed in on Izhaan Mirza Malik as per reports in www.india.com.
In the Arabic language, Izhan means submission or obedience (in God). It has also been learned that Izhaan and the baby are doing good and the boy weighs 3.5 kg as per a source close to the family. Back in April this year, it was known that Sania was pregnant. While a majority was happy for her, a few of them went on troll the tennis player surrounding pregnancy.
However, she came out bravely and countered her trolls with dignity and ferocity. Shoaib Malik recently played a couple of T20Is in the three-match series against Australia. He is most likely to play the series against New Zealand as well. The 31-year-old Mirza has also been out of action for quite a while and even she would be keen to return on the court at the earliest.
