Shoaib Malik conveys his best regards to Pakistan U19 team

Shoaib Malik has urged the players to forget their recent defeat in the ACC U19 Asia Cup finals.

Veteran Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik has sent his best regards to the Pakistan U19 team. The players of the Pakistan U19 team recently left for the ICC U19 World Cup 2018. The 2018 edition of the youth World Cup is all set to be played in New Zealand. The tournament commences on January 13. Over the years, the Pakistan U19 team has been one of the most dominant sides in the tournament.

Hence, the expectations from this young Pakistani side is quite high as well. As per the reports in brecorder.com, Shoaib Malik has urged the players to forget their recent defeat in the ACC U19 Asia Cup. In the Asia Cup finals, Pakistan U19 had lost to Afghanistan U19 side. The Afghanistan side had humiliated them by a mammoth margin of 185 runs in the finals.The Afghanistan team had managed to beat the men in green in both the matches the two sides played during the course of the tournament.

Now, Malik wants the team to forget that outing and focus on the bigger picture that lies ahead – the ICC U19 World Cup. Reportedly, Shoaib Malik was invited to attend the ceremony in Lahore that was hosted to honor the U19 team before they left for New Zealand. Speaking to the players, Malik asked the players to showcase their skills on the cricket field. Also, he urged them to be disciplined. He noted that if they are disciplined, then they will get success in every field.

Malik follows it up with a tweet

Later, Malik also posted a tweet on the social media thanking the officials for having called him at the send off ceremony.

“Thank you @pepsipakistan for having me at the Official send-off for our U19 team for the World Cup 2018. Have to appreciate the excellent execution of the #FutureXI program & loads of Duas for our boys, make us proud Shabba!” Shoaib Malik wrote in a tweet.
