Shoaib Malik dispels rumours of baby girl's birth

Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, who is married to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, has dismissed rumours that his wife has given birth to their first child already. As per unverified reports on certain media outlets, Malik and Mirza had been blessed with a baby girl. In fact, there were even pictures doing the rounds on social media of Sania along with the new-born baby, and those who created the fake posts claimed that it was their child.

Understandably, platforms such as Twitter and Instagram were flooded with messages congratulating the couple on the occasion of becoming parents. However, the cricketer took to social media to clear the air about this piece of information. He dismissed the rumour of his wife having given birth to a child and also appealed to everyone to remember the couple in their prayers. More importantly, he advised his fans and followers to not believe everything they came across on the internet.

Malik in his tweet made it clear that news of him and Sania becoming parents are baseless and false. This is what the veteran all-rounder tweeted: “We will do a proper announcement when the kid decides to arrive, please keep us in your Duas (and don’t believe everything you see/read on the internet please!)”

With Shoaib setting the records straight, it is clear that the couple is still awaiting their first child. Sania Mirza has been sharing images of herself on a regular basis and has also taken on the trolls in style. The Indian tennis star recently shut a troll and shared what she feels about women being shamed for pregnancy. “Pregnancy is not a disease”, Mirza had earlier said.

The couple got married on April 12, 2010 – a star-studded event which took place at the Taj Krishna Hotel in Hyderabad. The news of Sania marrying Shoaib had taken everyone by surprise back then, but the couple has constantly been in the news ever since. Both Shoaib and Sania have on several occasions reiterated how they have supported each other in their careers and have coped with the changing landscapes of their respective sports.
