Man of the series for Pakistan in the recently concluded 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, Shoaib Malik believes that Pakistan sent out a positive message to the world by hosting the team which was attacked 8 years back in the same city of Lahore.

Malik, who was also adjudged as the man of the match in the Final T20I at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, congratulated the whole nation for their tremendous hospitality. The 35-year old claimed that the feeling of playing on their home ground as indescribable.

“When you play before [at] your own ground, when you enter the ground you feel too much happiness and you can’t describe that feeling. I am blessed that my comeback also came here in Lahore. We have sent a good message across the world, the team which was attacked (came) and it’s a positive signal. The kind of hospitality they got was tremendous. Congratulations to the whole nation” stated Shoaib Malik according to Cricbuzz.

Pakistan has recently discovered rich form in the limited overs format by whitewashing both ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka, winning the Independence Cup against World XI and the famous Champions Trophy win.

“Consistency is the main thing. You select the right talent and then back them with consistent chances. The selection committee is giving consistent chances. Spots are not fixed in the eleven but the squad is more or less the same. This team has unity and the boys are doing well, they back each other and even lift the seniors as well,” added Malik.

Shoaib Malik concluded by revealing that his goal is to win the World Cup with Pakistan. “We don’t know about tomorrow but the goal is to win and a World Cup is missing from my honour. I don’t have words to show my desire but I request (you) to pray for me,” concluded the middle order batsman who amassed 102 runs in the T20I series.
