Indian socialite Shobhaa De has made yet another controversial tweet and this time, it’s Sachin Tendulkar under her target. Shobha seems to be unhappy about the expensive prizes been given away to felicitate Indian Olympic stars.

In the first tweet she wrote, “Here’s a small, annoying but pertinent question: Did Sachin T pay for the BMWs he ‘gave away ‘ to Rio athletes?”

She wasn’t done with one and fired another after a few hours.

“Great ad for BMW. Who will pay for running these pricy beasts? Hoping they don’t become white elephants for athletes”

And Twitterati was quick to reply:

During the games, Mrs. De was trolled by Virender Sehwag after Indian won its first medal in the Rio Olympics 2016. The writer and columnist had previously sparked a huge outrage on Twitter. Many lashed out at her insensitive attitude towards athletes.

She had remarked that it’s a waste of opportunity and money to send athletes to the Olympics. “Goal of Team India at the Olympics: Rio jao. Selfies lo. Khaali haat wapas aao. What a waste of money and opportunity,” she tweeted.

But a few days after her tweet, Sakshi Malik clinched a bronze in the Women’s Wrestling event on the 17th of August. This made many train their guns towards Shobhaa including Sehwag who said “Medal around Sakshi’s neck is looking very attractive. That’s why one should never do things which does not suit them.”

India won two medals at the sporting mega-event. Wrestler Sakshi Malik opened India’s medal tally with a Bronze medal in the 58 Kg category. Shuttler PV Sindhu then clinched silver after losing against her Spanish opponent Carolina Marin in the finals.
