'Shocked' - Cricketing fraternity stunned to hear the news of Shane Warne's demise

In what comes as a piece of seriously devastating news to the world of cricket, legendary Australian cricketer, Shane Warne, has passed at the age of 52. The star leg spinner has reportedly died of a suspected heart attack. The news has left one and all around the globe in absolute shock.
According to a brief statement released by Warne’s management, the iconic cricketer passed away in Koh Samui, Thailand. The statement further sheds some light on what surrounded Warne’s death by stating he was found unresponsive in his villa. Even though the best of efforts were made by medical staff, he could not be revived. Further details are expected.
“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” the statement reads according to Fox Cricket. “The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
Given his age, it is unfathomable for many to digest the news. Warne was an active voice in the sport and held a very reputable image amongst many past & current cricketers.
Shane Warne was one of the most iconic cricketers to have played the game
The Melbourne born cricketer is regarded as arguably the greatest leg-spinners the world has seen. With 708 Test wickets to his name, Warne sits second on the all-time list of Test wicket-takers. Since his retirement in 2007, the cricketer had taken to broadcasting and media, by being involved as an analyst and expert on various platforms across the globe. He has also covered numerous games of cricket as a commentator.
He has also coached at the Indian Premier League in India and taken up the role of a mentor for many domestic cricket teams. Notably, he had recently expressed his interest in coaching England’s national team. With his demise, the cricketer has left many fans and stakeholders of the game mourning. His passing will be remembered as a dark day in cricket and the aura of the man will be hard to be forgotten.
