India’s U-19 star, Shubman Gill, has broken into the big league of players like Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Ishan Kishan and Harmanpreet Kaur after signing a bat endorsement deal with CEAT. He is reaping rewards of his Player-of-Series worthy performance in the country’s U-19 World Cup victory in New Zealand early in 2018.
This bat endorsement deal has come just days ahead of the eleventh edition of IPL, wherein Gill will represent Kolkata Knight Riders after being bought for Rs. 1.80 Cr. He will now be seen playing with a bat prominently displaying CEAT insignia in all formats of the game.
After the deal was inked, Gill quoted, “I feel privileged to be part of the CEAT cricketing family, which is home to some of the finest names of Indian Cricket like Rohit Sir and Ajinkya Sir. I look forward to playing a long innings with CEAT!” Shubhman said in a release, as reported by New Indian Express.
U19 players making the rounds
The right-handed-batsman is among the few U-19 cricketers that have shot into limelight after convincing performances. His team-mate Prithvi Shaw, who captained the U-19 side and will be representing Delhi Daredevils in the upcoming season, had signed up a bat endorsement deal with MRF in December 2017.
The young achiever from Mumbai signed up a multi-year bat sponsorship deal with MRF, India’s premier tire company which has supported Indian athletes like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Shikhar Dhawan over the years. It has also been associated with international cricketers like Brian Lara, Steve Waugh, and AB de Villiers.
Both the U-19 stars will be seen in action during IPL which is scheduled to begin on April 7. These two cricketers are on the list of young batting sensations to watch out for and can prove to be a long-term investment for their respective teams.
