'Shukria Bhai' - Ross Taylor responds to Sachin Tendulkar in Hindi, thanks India legend for 'recognition'

New Zealand‘s senior batter Ross Taylor bid adieu to his 16-year long international cricket career, after playing against Netherlands on April 4 (Monday). Several veteran players, fans and experts, including India’s batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, wished the Kiwi batter on his incredible journey.
However, Taylor attracted everyone’s attention by responding to Tendulkar’s appreciation post in Hindi on social media. The Master Blaster had lauded the Kiwi batter for reinventing himself over the years and called him an inspiration for young cricketers.
It was wonderful playing against you: Sachin wrote on Twitter
“You’ve been a great ambassador of the game Ross! It was wonderful playing against you. The way you reinvented yourself over the years to adapt is an inspiration for all the young kids aspiring to be cricketers. Heartiest congratulations on a fabulous career,” wrote Sachin on micro-blogging site.
Replying to the Indian legend on Twitter, Taylor wrote, “Shukria Sachin Bhai, aap ki recognition ke liye. To get this message from my favourite player growing up is an absolute honour.”

It is to be noted that Ross Taylor played his last match for New Zealand in an ODI against the Netherlands at Seddon Park in Hamilton on April 4 (Monday). The 38-year old could only managed to score 14 runs in his last match. However, the Kiwis won that competition by a comfortable margin of 115 runs
The right-handed batter represented New Zealand in 112 Test matches, 236 ODIs and 102 T20Is. Making 8,607 runs in the 50-over format, Taylor is the leading run-scorer for the Kiwis in ODIs. Similarly, the 38-year old has amassed 7683 runs in longest format of the game. Talking about his numbers in T20Is, he has 1909 runs to his name, the fourth-highest by a Kiwi batter.
Taylor has also stroked 93 fifties and 40 hundreds across all three formats of the game. He also has three double-hundreds under his belt in Test cricket. It is worth mentioning that Ross Taylor was made New Zealand’s all-format captain in June 2011.
