Siddarth Kaul hosts team India at his residence ahead of Mohali ODI
The whole team led by skipper Kohli posed with the newly-married couple.
Team India will be looking to bounce back from the 32-run defeat in Ranchi when they take on Australia in the fourth ODI in Mohali on Sunday. After winning the first two games of the series, the Men in Blue were the firm favourites to win the third ODI too. However, the reigning world champions came up with an all-round effort to get the better of the high-flying hosts and keep the five-match series alive.
Asked to bat first, Australia posted a daunting total of 313 for 5 with Usman Khawaja and Aaron Finch leading the charge. While Khawaja scored his maiden ODI ton, Finch missed a well-deserved one by just 7 runs. In reply, India rarely looked in contention to chase down the total due to losing wickets at regular intervals. Skipper Virat Kohli scored a superb ton again but lack of support from the other end meant India were all out for 281.
Well, Team India will be looking to leave the defeat behind and get back to winning ways in Mohali. And their sojourn in Mohali has started on a good note. India pacer Siddarth Kaul hosted the whole team at his residence in Zirakpur on Saturday. A day before hosting his teammates, Kaul had tied the nuptial knot with Harsimran Kaur. The whole team led by skipper Kohli posed with the newly-married couple as the mood in the camp looked upbeat ahead of the crucial clash.
Last week, MS Dhoni had hosted the whole team in Ranchi before the third ODI. Kaul, meanwhile, was a part of the ODI team for the first two games of the ongoing series. However, he did not play in any of them before being replaced by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Kohli eyes improvement:
The top-order collapses in the series would have given the team-management a lot to worry about just days ahead of the World Cup. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Ambati Rayudu and Shikhar Dhawan have looked off-colour so far. And Kohli has said he would like to see the team avoid another collapse in the fourth ODI. “No team wants to do that. We are a team that takes lot of pride in our cricket, and we are a team that has strung in partnerships,” Kohli had said after the third ODI.
