Siddarth Kaul signifies Harbhajan Singh's position in his life on the latter's birthday

Siddarth Kaul has had an eventful last few months. He plied his trade for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and turned out to be an indispensable member of their setup. The performances didn’t elude the eyes of the selectors and he was drafted into the limited-overs squad for India’s tour of the United Kingdom (UK). He didn’t play the first T20I versus Ireland at the Malahide Cricket Ground.

However, he was drafted into the eleven for the second match and picked up the wicket of James Shannon, who was in decent form having scored a half-century in the opening encounter, in his spell of two overs in which he conceded only four runs. The Men in Blue will lock now horns with England at the Old Trafford in Manchester for the first T20I of their tour of the European nation.

Kaul’s respect for Harbhajan

Meanwhile, Kaul revealed that he called his Punjab-teammate Harbhajan Singh after he was blessed with the India call-up. Harbhajan was a fulcrum of the national team in all the formats, but inconsistent form and emergence of new spinners in Ravichandran Ashwin and others made sure that he couldn’t stay put in his position. Nevertheless, the tweaker is still playing in domestic events and the IPL as well.

The legendary off-spinner is celebrating his 38th birthday today and wished have already poured in for one of the greatest spinners India have ever produced. Kaul, on the auspicious occasion, revealed his admiration for the veteran and wished him luck.

He took to Twitter, posted a picture of theirs and wrote “When I received my maiden selection call for India last year, this was the first man whom I called. This is how important you are for me Bhajju Pa. Wishing you a very happy birthday paaji. May God grant you health and happiness for lifetime @harbhajan_singh”
