Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan is busy doing Hindi commentary in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season in the UAE. Along with his commentary, the left-hander is also expressing his views on his official Twitter handle after almost every match in the cash-rich league. Last week, after Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) third consecutive defeat to the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), he came up with cryptic tweet.
Irfan Pathan took an indirect dig at MS Dhoni over ‘Age is just a number‘ phrase and stated that the same ‘Age’ was a reason for the other players to be dropped. This came after the CSK skipper couldn’t take the team home despite staying unbeaten till the end. Rather he was seen struggling while running in the end due to the heat in the UAE and many felt that age is catching up with the veteran wicket-keeper.

The above tweet from Irfan Pathan indicated that he was dropped from the Indian team despite winning the Man of the Match in his last international game. Unfortunately, the all-rounder never played for India again and before retiring, featured for Jammu & Kashmir while also playing the role of a mentor for them.
Puri kitaab padhne par chakkar aaega, says Irfan Pathan
Irfan Pathan was criticised by MS Dhoni’s fans it seems and after being at the receiving end of the same, he has come up with yet another dig at the critics in his latest tweet. “Sirf Do line mein sir ghum gaye, puri kitaab padhne par chakkar bhi aaega;) #lovingit,” he wrote in his tweet. (The statement roughly translates – Only two lines have turned a lot of heads, you will faint after reading the whole book).

Moreover, after Irfan Pathan’s first tweet, another India cricketer Harbhajan Singh had also quoted it agreeing with his former teammate. “10000000 percent agree with you @IrfanPathan,” he wrote in his tweet. Harbhajan is not playing in the ongoing IPL in UAE and cited personal reasons while pulling out of the tournament.
