Skill India signs up Virat Kohli and Siddharth Malhotra as goodwill ambassadors

Indian Test captain Virat Kohli has in the last couple of years replaced most popular faces as the brand ambassador since he is now the biggest youth icon in the country. He has been in some exceptional form with the bat in hand and as the skipper as well. His popularity has been soaring and everyone wants to make the best of his widespread reach and install their message among the masses. Going along the trends he has now been picked in as the goodwill ambassador for Skill India along with Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put in a lot of effort to promote Skill India which has the objective of training the Indian labour force and enhancing their value in the market. Cricketing legend  Sachin Tendulkar is already on board and has been promoting the mission.

Announcing the decision Manish Kumar, Managing Director and CEO of Skill India said, “The idea of having Virat and Sidharth on board was to reach out to the youths who consider them as their icons,” the two celebrities are expected to expand the reach to the youngsters and promote “Kushal Bharat Kaushal Bharat”.

Union Minister of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge), Rajiv Pratap Rudy was also of the opinion that Virat and Siddharth are talented individuals and that will motivate the youth of the country to make better use of their skills. “With the talent and skills of Virat Kohli and Sidharth Malhotra, the youth of the nation will be motivated to perform in their everyday lives like the great icons who have earned their place under the sun with their sheer talent and respective skills… that will be a service to the nation,” Rudy said.

Virat is currently leading the Indian Test team in the fourth Test against England in Mumbai and only today scored a magnificent double hundred, the third of his career.
