Sky Sports makes fun of Jonny Bairstow for using binoculars from dressing room

The second Test between South Africa and England being played at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town is proving to be a good contest between the two sides, especially after the completion of each innings of both the sides. England had made 269 in their first outing, with Ollie Pope making 61* and contributions from Sibley, Denly, Root, and Stokes.

Meanwhile, the South African team responded in kind but found the old warhorse James Anderson quite difficult to getaway. Dean Elgar made 88 and Rassie van der Dussen contributed with his second half-century in Test matches and made 68 runs. Anderson, on the other hand, picked 5/40, his record 28th five-wicket haul in Tests, going past Ravichandran Ashwin and Sir Ian Botham’s record of 27 fifers each. South Africa managed just 223 runs, giving England a crucial 46-run lead.

Meanwhile, England’s Jonny Bairstow, who was left out of this Test match, was having quite a lot of fun on the balcony of the dressing room. Bairstow managed just 10 runs in two innings of the first Test and was left out in favor of spinner Dom Bess. The wicketkeeper-batsman meanwhile idled his time using a binocular to birdwatch in his spare time.

However, the official England broadcasters Sky Sports used the opportunity to have some fun with Bairstow and whenever he put the binocular to his eyes, the camera panned to some beautiful ladies in the crowd, who waved enthusiastically after seeing themselves on the big screen in the ground.

England in their second innings on day three decided to dig in and work towards a big total and succeeded despite losing four wickets. Dom Sibley made his maiden Test half-century and got some incredible support from skipper Joe Root, who continued his good form with another fifty as the duo added more than 100 runs for the third wicket. For South Africa, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada were the wicket-takers.
