India snatched win from the jaws of defeat to win the second ODI against Sri Lanka and also seal the three-match series. The hosts were left ruing a missed chance to level the series as they had put themselves in a winning position with some exceptional bowling performance. India were struggling at 193/7 in the chase before Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar did the unthinkable to take the team home.
Despite the loss, all is not lost for Sri Lanka. They have players performing for them in crunch situations and pacer Dushmantha Chameera is one of them. After being extremely impressive in England, Chameera has clocked very good pace and troubled the Indian batsmen in the ongoing series.
Sri Lanka have used him in short bursts and the youngster has responded well. But he has been unlucky not to be in the wickets column more often like his other teammates. Dushmantha Chameera doesn’t have any wickets in the 17 overs he has bowled so far in this series. But he has been brilliant with his line and lengths and pace which has even impressed the India head coach Rahul Dravid.
It has been learnt Dravid has let his Sri Lanka counterparts know that he has been very much impressed with the way Chameera has shaped up in the series. This should come as a huge compliment for the pace bowler as Dravid comes across as a brilliant person in terms of identifying talent and it is evident with what he has done with the Indian cricket so far.
Apparently, after yesterday’s game, Rahul Dravid had told his Sri Lankan counterparts that he’s immensely impressed with what Dushmantha Chameera has displayed this series.

Chameera keen to pick wickets in final ODI
Meanwhile, Dushmantha Chameera will be definitely disappointed with the way things have gone so far for him. 0/42 and 0/65 are his figures in the two ODIs but he has bowled much better than that and has been unlucky at times. With the latest compliment from Rahul Dravid, he will be looking to bowl even better and pick wickets for his team in the third and final ODI.
