SL vs IND: Prithvi Shaw’s blitz in first ODI praised by rumoured girlfriend Prachi Singh
Shaw won the Man of the Match award for his batting in the first ODI.
Prithvi Shaw unleashed mayhem during the first ODI against Sri Lanka and scored runs all over the park. Chasing a competitive total of 263 runs at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the young opener attacked from the outset and made great utilization of the powerplay overs. He, in total, scored 43 off 24 balls as the home team seemed out of the contest in the first 10 overs itself.
Riding on his efforts, India chased down the target in mere 36.4 overs, winning the contest by seven wickets. Although two Indian batsmen scored more than Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan (86*) and Ishan Kishan (59), the young opener received the Player-of-the-Match award for his blitz at the top. It has to be noted that the opening clash was Shaw’s first ODI after 1.5 years and he showed no signs of nervousness.
Prachi Singh lauds Prithvi Shaw
Fans were highly impressed by Shaw’s special show as social media got flooded with praises for the 21-year-old. One of the many who applauded the young opener was Shaw’s rumoured girlfriend actress Prachi Singh. Taking of her Instagram story, Prachi shared a couple of posts hailing the cricketer. “The Best,” wrote the actress while sharing a post that called the cricket ‘Prithvi Showstopper Shaw.’
In the other post, Prachi shared a snap of Shaw speaking in the post-match presentation. “Player of the match, well deserved,” she wrote in the caption alongside a heart emoji. Screenshots of the posts got viral in no time as the dating rumours were fueled. Notably, the alleged couple has never opened about their relationship in public but several of their social media activities have rife speculations.
Meanwhile, Prithvi was a happy man after the game and that was evident in his post-match conversation. “I just went with my instinct and waited for the loose balls. Obviously wanted to keep the scoreboard ticking and yeah. Pitch was very nice. First innings also was good but I think it got better in the second innings,” said Shaw.
The Delhi Capitals cricketer would certainly like to continue his stellar run in the second ODI on Tuesday (July 20). Notably, several prominent Team India players are currently in England for a five-match Test series. Hence, Shaw needs to put up an exceptional show in this series to stake a claim in India’s first-choice line-up.
