The BCCI logo is a sense of great pride for every Indian cricketer. And, the Indian players portray the logo when they take the field for their side in the playing arena. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Virender Sehwag were not only seen portraying the BCCI logo on their helmets but additionally even used to portray the Indian flag on their helmets as well.

But then, in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament, Siddarth Kaul was not allowed to do so. Turning out for the Punjab side, Kaul entered the playing arena with the BCCI logo and the national flag clearly visible. Kaul was immediately asked to cover his BCCI logo but was allowed to portray the national flag on his helmet.

In fact, there is a BCCI rule that objects to players using Indian cricketing gear in domestic matches. The rule states that if the players inadvertently do so, then the umpires have the power to intervene, and the player should be taping the logo.

“The clear instruction given to the match referees is to tell team officials that the players are not permitted to use India jerseys, caps or helmets. If the players inadvertently wear India stuff, there should be taping on the helmet crest or caps,” says the rule.
