The cricketer-turned-commentator Michael Vaughan reacted to the reports of Hardik Pandya moving back to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans in the upcoming IPL 2024 season. The former England captain also mentioned that it was the first sign of transfer fees in cricket like in football.

The proposed all-cash transaction, estimated at INR 15 crore ($1.8 million approx.), encompasses his salary alongside an undisclosed transfer fee to Gujarat Titans, where he may also claim up to half of the transfer amount. This potential trade has stirred speculation, indicating a monumental shift in the IPL landscape.

As per reports, to secure Hardik's return, Mumbai Indians might release Jofra Archer and Cameron Green, previously signed for substantial amounts of INR 8 crore and INR 17.5 crore, respectively.
