The Asia Cup 2022 final between Sri Lanka and Pakistan took place on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium and it was the Island nation that emerged victorious in the tournament. After losing the toss, the Sri Lanka side were in complete disarray at 58 for 5, however, the likes of Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Wanindu Hasaranga changed the momentum in Sri Lanka’s favour with a crucial partnership.

While Rajapaksa hit a splendid unbeaten 71, Hasaranga played his part with a 36-run knock and the duo got the side to a score of 170, which proved to be match-winning in the end. The Pakistan batters did not have much answers to the Sri Lankan bowlers and did not pace the run chase well as they lost by 23 runs in the end.

During the Sri Lankan batting innings, a strange collision took place between Pakistan fielders Shadab Khan and Asif Ali while going for Bhanuka Rajapaksa's catch in the 19th over. Asif had almost grabbed the catch until Shadab ran into him. However, the collision led to a dropped catch as the ball went over the ropes.

While Pakistan have been seriously trolled in social media for their fielding effort in the final, Delhi Police came up with an interesting Tweet, as they posted an ad video of the collision between the players to create awareness about the road accidents.

Meanwhile, the dropped catch proved to be quite costly, as Rajapaksa made use of the chance and finished with two boundaries in the final over. It also broke the momentum factor for Pakistan going into the dressing room in the mid-way while Sri Lanka held on to all of their catches to make sure they get over the line in the finals.
