AFG vs IRE: Mark Adair celebrates in style after dismissing Rahmat Shah for third time in series

Afghanistan's Rahmat Shah seems to have met his match in Ireland's Mark Adair, who has sent him back to the pavilion three times in just four innings during the ongoing series (twice during the one-off Test and once in the third ODI). Adair's standout performances, particularly in the one-off Test, where he recorded his personal best figures of 5 for 39, have garnered widespread attention and acclaim. This remarkable feat also secured him a spot as only the third player in Ireland Men's Test history to claim a five-wicket haul in a Test innings.

Once again, in the third ODI, a similar situation unfolded on th fourth delivery of the 14th over. Adair pitched it just short of a length outside off to Shah. Shah attempted to guide it but only managed a slight nick, caught by the keeper. Adair couldn't hide his joy as it marked yet another disappointment for Rahmat in the series, especially against Adair.

In the one-off Test match which was played a couple of weeks back, Adair displayed impressive bowling skills, claiming eight wickets with his skillful seam and swing deliveries. During the 14th over, he succeeded in unsettling Rahmat, who seemed unsure and ended up nicking the full outswinger hwich was pitched outside off. Rahmat, caught in a defensive stance, edged the ball, which was easily caught by wicketkeeper Lorcan Tucker, which marked his third dismissal against the Ireland pacer.

Afghanistan seal the series with a comprehensive victory

Mohammed Nabi's exceptional bowling performance led Afghanistan to a commanding 117-run victory over Ireland in the 3rd ODI at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. With this win, Hashmatullah Shahidi's Afghanistan also secured a series victory of 2-0, having won the first and final 50-over matches, with the second ODI being abandoned due to rain.

Nabi's five-wicket haul and Nangeyalia Kharoti's four-wicket contribution curbed Ireland to just 119 runs in 35 overs while chasing a target of 237. Nabi's outstanding all-round display earned him the Player of the Match award. Meanwhile, Rahmanullah Gurbaz was awarded the Player of the Series award for his impressive batting performance, finishing as the highest run-scorer with 172 runs at an average of 86.
