Mickey Arthur, the team director of Pakistan, was extremely angry and frustrated after witnessing the poor performance of the Pakistani bowlers in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 match against Afghanistan, at Chepauk in Chennai. Afghanistan, while chasing a target of 283 runs, got off to an impressive start with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran forming a partnership of over 100 runs for the opening wicket.

Mickey Arthur, the team director of Pakistan, was extremely angry and frustrated after witnessing the poor performance of the Pakistani bowlers in the ongoing World Cup 2023 match against Afghanistan at Chepauk. Afghanistan, while chasing a target of 283 runs, got off to an impressive start with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran forming a partnership of over 100 runs for the opening wicket.

Unfortunately, Pakistan's bowling was below par as their fast bowlers conceded a significant number of runs with the new ball. In the 11th over, leg-spinner Usama Mir was brought into the attack. However, in his very first over, Usama bowled a loose delivery outside off stump, which was effortlessly smashed by Zadran for a boundary.

Upon witnessing this poor delivery, Mickey Arthur lost his temper and stormed off into the dressing room. His actions clearly indicated his dissatisfaction with the way the Pakistani bowlers were executing their plans.

Afghanistan caused a massive upset over Pakistan to clinch their second big win in ODI World Cup 2023

Meanwhile, speaking of the 22nd game of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, after having elected to bat first, The Babar Azam-led side started well as their openers gave a solid start to the Men in Green. However, the day belonged to the Afghanistan spinners who dominated the Pakistan batters for over 38 overs. As a result, despite having had a good start, Azam's men failed to score over the 300-mark total, which meant that Afghanistan did not give a sniff of a win to their immediate neighbours.

As a result, Afghanistan openers after an early vigil, ensured a solid run chase for their side with a 130-run stand for the first wicket. Thereafter, the duo of Rahmat Shah and captain Hashmatullah Shahidi took their time to get set on the pitch and took the game deep. In the end, it was the skipper who smacked the winning runs off Shaheen Afridi to script history for Afghanistan as the Atalans won the game comfortably by 8 wickets.
