'Aise kaise kheech loge?' - Virat Kohli shares hilarious banter with GT's Wriddhiman Saha, video goes viral

The Indian Premier League, along with the enterprising and innovative brand of cricket it offers each passing edition, is also well-renowned for providing its share of banter, in terms of on-field fierce and friendly moments alike, especially during high-octane encounters.

A similar incident occurred during Match 52 of the ongoing 2024 edition between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Titans at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. RCB, in their chase of 148, were in cruise-control mode with skipper, Faf du Plessis, and stalwart, Virat Kohli, going all guns blazing, providing a beaming start to the run-chase putting on 92 for the first wicket inside the powerplay with the former falling for a breathtaking 64 off 23 on the penultimate delivery of the powerplay.

In a bid to get his team's spirits elevated after a thumping by the openers of the hosts, GT's wicketkeeper, Wriddhiman Saha, cheered on his teammates from behind the stumps by yelling "chalo-chalo, runs roko, match kheecho (come on boys, limit the flow of runs, tighten the grip on the match)". On hearing this, the active side of Kohli was stirred up as he retorted with "Aise kaise kheech lega? (How come will you drag the match like that?)"

RCB remain in the hunt for Playoffs spot

After a grim start to the season, the Bengaluru-based franchise has picked up considerably well, winning three games on the spin against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and GT. With three games to go and the electric nick they're in at the moment, they might just be able to secure a spot for the Playoffs as the tournament reaches its fag end.

The Faf du Plessis-led side will play next against Punjab Kings at Dharamsala, followed by home games against Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings to end their league stage campaign. A thumping win in all the three games, and (a lot of) luck, is all the franchise needs to secure a spot in the top four.
