Former India skipper and BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly is a massive football fan. He has watched multiple English Premier League matches in the past and on Sunday, he was in attendance at the Emirates Stadium to watch Arsenal versus Manchester United. Ganguly had a front row sitting along with his wife Dona Ganguly and daughter Sara Ganguly.

Notably, the southpaw is a massive Manchester United supporter but his favourite team lost 3-1 on Sunday night. Nevertheless, the cricketer was optimistic and shared that he loved every bit of the action.

“Watching my favourite sport is such a remarkable experience all the time .. the atmosphere of football in this country is electric .. as good as IPL .. great game of football today .. Arsenal vs Man U .. 3-1 to Arsenal,” Ganguly wrote on his Instagram account.

Interestingly, the former cricketer also compared the Premier League with the IPL. He believes that the intensity, pressure and atmosphere are as good as the Indian T20 extravaganza.

Ganguly is in charge of preparing iconic Eden Gardens for ODI World Cup 2023

When it comes to the cricketing side, Sourav Ganguly is playing an active role in helping Eden Gardens get ready ahead of the ODI World Cup. He is part of the 12-member committee which is taking care of all the development. Notably, there’s a high possibility for Eden Gardens to host an India versus Pakistan clash, if both teams face each other in the semi-final of the competition. Ganguly had mentioned that he was eager for that to happen and would keep Eden ready for a high-voltage game.

On the other hand, the 51-year-old recently stated that the upcoming tournament can prove to be Rohit’s last in the ODI format and hence, he expects the cricketer to give his all and win his maiden world title. However, since the tournament is being played at home this time around, there’s immense pressure on the hosts. Despite that the Men in Blue remains one of the favourites to win the competition.
