Much to the delight of several cricket fans around the globe, Virat Kohli has made his bat talk in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. The former Indian captain, who was enduring a lean patch before the start of the continental tournament, was among the runs in the first two games and his fans breathed a sigh of relief.

Owing to the same, he received a massive reception from the Dubai crowd when he came out to bat in the Super 4 clash against Pakistan. Kohli arrived in the middle after the dismissal of team skipper Rohit Sharma in the sixth over. The jam-packed crowd erupted seeing the batting talisman as there were chants of ‘Kohli Kohli’ in the stadium. The video of the same went viral in no time.

Speaking of the contest, Pakistan won the toss and, unsurprisingly, elected to bowl first. India got off to a flying start with openers Rohit and KL Rahul attacking bowlers from the outset. Unfortunately for India, none of the two could convert their starts into big scores and were dismissed for 28 apiece. However, Kohli, who scored 59 not out and 35 in his last two outings, continued the onslaught and played some delightful shots all over the park.

Fans and experts witnessed the glimpses of vintage Kohli as the battling stalwart batted with intent and never let the scoring rate come down. While dashers like Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya couldn’t contribute much, the 33-year-old kept the scoreboard ticking from one end.

Owing to the same, Pakistan batters will have some job in hand when they’ll arrive in the middle to chase the target. It must be noted that both these met in their respective campaign openers of the competition. Although the contest went right down to the wire, the Men in Blue emerged victorious by five wickets, crossing the line with just a couple of deliveries to spare. While India are eyeing to replicate their heroics, Babar Azam’s men have redemption in mind.
