While the Pakistani and Indian fans enjoyed a rollercoaster ride in a last-over thriller on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium,  England's ‘Barmy Army' managed to rile up the fans from both sides with their comparison of the India-Pakistan rivalry with the Ashes. The comment did not go down well among the fans of the Asian sides, who trolled the English outfit for their controversial remark.

The India-Pakistan rivalry served up yet another memorable blockbuster on Sunday in the Super 4 stage of the ongoing Asia Cup tournament as the arch-rivals engaged in a riveting contest in front of a jam-packed crowd in Dubai. Babar Azam's side, who were on the losing side in a thrilling encounter earlier in the tournament against the same opposition, got over the line in the final over on this occasion.

Although the mouthwatering clash lived up to the hype and served up a classic, England's renowned cricket supporters club, Barmy Army, labeled the Ashes a better watch than India vs Pakistan matches. The Barmy Army wrote on Twitter, “Ashes > India vs Pakistan anyway.”

Wasim Jaffer gives a befitting reply to the Barmy Army

The tweet, as expected, did not go down well with the supporters from both sides, including former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer, who is an ever-present figure on social media these days. Jaffer gave them a fitting reply, sighting England's horrendous form in the recently concluded Ashes series down under, earlier this year where they lost 4-0.

Jaffer, who is often seen engaging in banter with the supporter's group,  brutally trolled Barmy Army for the Tweet, with a reply that read, “If I was an England fan, with the Ashes record Eng has, I'd downplay the Ashes if anything #INDvPAK.”

Notably, England will be up against South Africa in the third and final Test of the series at The Oval, commencing on the 8th of September with the series levelled at 1-1 after England bounced back in style in the second Test and will be looking to pocket another Test win under head coach Brendon McCullum.
