India and Pakistan face off in Super 4 of Asia Cup 2022 in Dubai on September 4, Sunday. India, after being put to bat first, posted a total of 181 in 20 overs, and Pakistan have a challenging chase ahead. Hardik Pandya, who starred during the previous clash between the two teams, got out for a two-ball duck while Rishabh Pant also couldn't do much and threw away his wicket.
Pandya, facing fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain, tried to just flick a short ball into the mid-wicket region. But, he ended up ballooning the ball straight to Mohammad Nawaz at short mid-wicket, and the all-rounder did the rest by completing a neat catch. On the other hand, Pant played an unnecessary reverse sweep and got out at the wrong time.
Meanwhile, cameras caught Rohit Sharma telling off Pant after the latter was back in the pavilion, explaining what was wrong with his shot.
India, after being asked to bat first on a fairly green surface, got off to a flying start, scoring 62 runs in the six-over powerplay. Openers, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma departed for 28 runs each and added 54 runs for the first wicket. Virat Kohli carried on with his refound form in the Asia Cup 2022, scoring a well-made 60 runs off 44 balls.

Bad day in the office for the Indian middle order
India's middle order, along with Pandya, had a forgettable day in the office, with Suryakumar Yadav departing for 13, Rishabh Pant for 14 and Deepak Hooda for 16. Ravi Bishnoi, coming in at number nine, played a valuable cameo, facing only the last two balls of the innings and hitting both for a boundary. Pakistan would be hard done by those two deliveries, as they were misfields from Fakhar Zaman that handed India the two boundaries. It also took India over the 180-mark.
The pick of the Pakistan bowlers was their vice-captain, Shadab Khan, who finished with two wickets for 31 runs in four overs. Mohammad Nawaz also bowled a tidy spell of one wicket for 25 runs in four overs. Star pacer Naseem Shah had a tough day, as he conceded 45 runs in his four overs, and got the only wicket of Hooda in the 19th over.
