India pacer Mohammed Siraj relished a stellar start in the Asia Cup final as he claimed five wickets in under five overs of his bowling innings against defending champions Sri Lanka. In the midst of the much-anticipated final, one of England pacer Jofra Archer’s tweets is making rounds on social media which has sent fans into a frenzy.

Notably, Siraj dislodged the top and middle order, which included the pacer racking up four wickets in a single over for just five runs. Impressively, during the powerplay, Siraj returned with five scalps in five overs which included as many as 26 dot balls and a maiden over.

His lethal outing with the ball has garnered massive attention and sent social media into a frenzy. With this, one of Archer’s old tweets which dates back to 2015, is making rounds on the internet that is relatable to Siraj’s match haul against the Lankan Lions.

“5 for 4? Well bowled to you sir,” Jofra Archer shared on his Twitter handle in 2015.

India off to a dream start

Notably, Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the decision seemed to have swiftly backfired, considering the early fall of wickets. Team India was eager to capitalize on this and restricted the home side to a paltry total of just 50 runs.

It is worth mentioning that team India have never been victorious against Sri Lanka in the final of the Asia Cup at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In 1997 and 2004, Sri Lanka attained glory against the Men in Blue at this particular venue and lifted the coveted title.

Rohit Sharma and Co. will be gunning to break that pattern and clinch the title in Colombo on Sunday, September 17. On the other side, Sri Lanka would try their best to save some pride.
