India and Bangladesh are currently playing the last match in the Super Four stage of Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo. This is essentially a dead rubber as India have already booked their ticket to the final on Sunday with wins against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, while Bangladesh have been ousted with losses against those two teams.
Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Bangla Tigers slipped to 59/4 before a 101-run partnership between Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy brought them back into the game. However, they lost two wickets in consecutive overs to lose the momentum they had worked so hard to gain. The sixth wicket fell to Ravindra Jadeja when he trapped Shamim Hossain in front of the stumps. The left-handed batter could not account for the turn the experienced Indian spinner received from the pitch and was hit on the back leg. On-field umpire Richard Illingworth was quick to raise his finger as it looked plumb to the naked eye.
However, Shamim decided to challenge the call. Third umpire Paul Wilson eventually asked Illingworth to stay with his original call as three reds came up on Ball Tracking. This was Jadeja's 200th ODI wicket, and he became the seventh Indian bowler to achieve the landmark. Prior to Jadeja, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Ajit Agarkar, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh, and Kapil Dev reached the milestone for the Men in Blue.

India rest five key players in Bangladesh tie
Rohit Sharma announced at the toss that they are resting five players for the inconsequential game against Bangladesh. Former India captain Virat Kohli, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, in-form spinner Kuldeep Yadav, and potent pace duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj were kept on the bench for this game to keep them fresh for the upcoming Asia Cup final.
Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, and Prasidh Krishna were picked in the XI.
