India and Nepal are locking horns in the fifth game of the Asia Cup 2023 on Monday, September 04 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. India didn’t get off to a good start as Nepalese openers Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh added 65 runs for the first wicket in 59 balls.

However, once India managed to get the breakthrough in the tenth over, the players got relaxed and were seen in a jolly good mood. Star India batter Virat Kohli was even spotted dancing on Nepali Kutu Ma Kutu after the end of the 14th over. The video of the incident has gone viral all over social media.

Notably, Kohli didn’t have the best of starts to the game as he dropped a sitter at short cover during the second over of the innings. Following his catch drop, Aasif Sheikh went on to score a half-century to take his team’s innings forward.

However, Kohli finally managed to redeem himself as he took an exceptional one-handed catch to bring curtains on Sheikh’s resilient knock in the 30th over. The former India captain jumped to his full height to grab a leading edge from Sheikh’s bat at the very same position he dropped the catch earlier on to give the fifth blow to Nepal.

Ravindra Jadeja picks 3-fer

The star India batter departed after scoring just four runs in the opening fixture against Pakistan. Kohli chopped a ball back onto his stumps against Shaheen Afridi once again exposing his weakness against left-arm seamers. Having failed to leave a mark in the opening game, Kohli will be hungry for a big knock against Nepal.

Meanwhile, despite losing wickets at regular intervals, the Nepalese batters continued to make valuable contributions to their total and reached the score of 194/6 after 41 overs. Ravindra Jadeja finished his spell with figures of 3/40 in ten overs while Mohammed Siraj picked up two wickets in his first seven overs.
