Indian cricketer KL Rahul recently tied the knot with Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty. The duo got married at Athiya’s father Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala in the presence of their near and dear ones on January 23, Monday, and pictures from their wedding ceremony have been doing rounds on social media ever since.
Since both Rahul and Athiya hail from Karnataka, the wedding and the rituals were performed as per Kannada tradition. While a wedding ceremony includes several rituals, the duo shared pictures from their ‘Haldi’ ceremony a couple of days after sharing pictures from their marriage.
On Saturday, January 28, Athiya shared unseen pictures from another one of their pre-wedding rituals on her official Instagram account and captioned the post with a flower emoticon. In one of the beautifully captured pictures, she is also seen holding KL Rahul’s hands, resting her head on his chest candidly while posing for the picture.
KL Rahul too commented on the picture with a ‘black heart’ emoticon.
“In your light, I learn how to love. Today, with our most loved ones, we got married in the home that’s given us immense joy and serenity. With a heart full of gratitude and love, we seek your blessings on this journey of togetherness,” the duo had written while sharing pictures of their wedding last week.
KL Rahul gears up for Border Gavaskar Trophy
The cricketer, who is currently on a break from national duty, will be seen back in action when India host Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy in February 2023. Rahul shared a video of him training in the gym, on his Instagram on Friday, January 27. India is currently hosting New Zealand in a three-match T20I series, and the four Tests against Australia will be their next assignment.
The four-match Test series is a crucial one for India as they aim to make their way into the World Test Championship finals. India and Australia are the leading contenders to make it to the WTC finals, but since the teams are still on the edge, a win against the Aussies, for India, would help them seal their finale berth.
