Australia have put up yet another dominating performance with the bat against South Africa in the second ongoing Test match at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Fans present at the MCG had a blast as they witnessed one of the greatest-ever Test innings by opener David Warner, who scored a sensational 200* off 254 balls.
However, in the midst of the Australia innings, Proteas pacer Kagiso Rabada was hilariously mimicked by the fans present in the stands. Rabada was seen stretching his body from left to right as he began warming up near the boundary rope and what followed was simply hilarious as the spectators behind started imitating the pacer’s actions.
Meanwhile, veteran batter Warner ended his Test century drought that lasted for nearly three years as he scripted a majestic ton in his 100th match. However, after reaching his double century, Warner hit his trademark celebratory leap but ended cramped up. Unable to recover from the injury, the southpaw walked to the dugout retired hurt.
Apart from the sensational knock by Warner, Steve Smith and Travis Head scored 85 and 48* runs respectively, which propelled the side to 386/3 on Day 2. The hosts lead by 197 runs with Head and Alex Carey out in the middle. The duo will be on the lookout to take a massive lead before declaring the innings on Day 3.
Meanwhile, the Aussies have faced another blow as Cameron Green was also retired hurt after being hit on his index finger by a short ball from Anrich Nortje. In any case, the Aussies will look to seal the series and make their case stronger for a spot in the summit clash of the World Test Championship.
