Pakistan's white-ball skipper, Babar Azam smashed a range of fours against pacer Shahnawaz Dahani during the Champions One-Day Cup 2024 match between the Stallions and Markhors in Faisalabad on September 15. Azam smashed the pacer for five consecutive boundaries in a single over.

Chasing a target of 232 runs, the Stallions found themselves in a tricky position at 13/1 in the fifth over. It was on the experienced Azam to steady the ship and turn the tide in his team's favour. After a cautious start with 5 runs off 10 deliveries, the 29-year-old unleashed his full collection of shots against Dahani in the seventh over. The over began with a dot ball, but a masterclass in batting brilliance followed.

Interestingly enough, later on, Dahani took to his social media handle and posted a video of him getting smacked by Babar Azam. He seemingly wanted to appreciate the Pakistan skipper's batting and in this regard, he pointed out how the batter made it look so easy against him. However, some people trolled him by asking whether he had some self-respect left or not, while some other people appreciated Dahani for his true sportsmanship.

Babar Azam is currently third highest run-getter of the competition

Despite the spectacular start, Babar Azam's innings was cut short at a run-a-ball 45, which included eight boundaries. His dismissal proved to be a turning point in the match, as the Stallions' batting lineup crumbled under pressure. From a good position of 79-3, they collapsed to a mere 105 all out, handing the Markhors a comprehensive 126-run victory.
