BAN vs IND: Mohammed Siraj imitates Cristiano Ronaldo's celebration after cleaning up Litton Das
Mohammed Siraj cleaned up Litton Das with an absolute pearler.
India got off to a flying start in the second ODI against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka thanks to Mohammed Siraj's sensational opening spell. The Indian pacer was at his frightening best, beating Bangladeshi skipper Litton Das all ends up to rattle his middle stump. Siraj even dished out footballing great Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic celebration in the aftermath of that wicket.
Bangladesh opted to bat first in the match after Litton Das won the toss in the decisive clash of the three-match series. Eyeing a historic series victory against the visitors, the home side got off to a rocky start after Mohammed Siraj made the new ball talk. The Indian pacer trapped Anamul Haque plumb in front of the wicket in the second over to hand India a blistering start in the contest.
However, the hammer blow for the Bangladeshi team came in the tenth over of the match when Siraj cleaned up their in-form skipper with a trademark inswinging delivery. Litton did not account for the extravagant movement and went for a booming drive leaving a big gap between his bat and pad. The Indian pacer was elated by his scalp and copied football icon Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic hand-on-chest gesture during his celebration. Siraj was accompanied by the incoming Umran Malik in the team after Kuldeep Sen was omitted from the second ODI due to a stiff back.
The 28-year-old was India's best bowler in the disappointing loss in the series opener, returning with exceptional bowling figures of 3/32 in his ten overs. Siraj's incredible run in the 50-over format continued in the ongoing second ODI against Bangladesh. Although he has been getting an extended run in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, his form makes him a firm favourite for making the first team for next year's World Cup in India.
