Emerging speedster Umran Malik was recalled into the Indian white-ball squad for the away series against New Zealand and he finished as India’s leading wicket-taker in the three-match ODI series bagging three scalps. Umran has once again repaid the selectors' faith in the ongoing One Day International series against Bangladesh.
In the second game against the Asian rivals at Dhaka, the express fast pacer kept both veteran Shakib Al Hasan and middle-order batter Najmul Hossain Shanto on their toes with his brilliant bowling during his first spell. However, it was Umran Malik’s unplayable delivery to dismiss Shanto is what stood out above all.
Umran Malik’s brilliant ball leaves Najmul Hossain Shanto totally clueless
This incident happened in the 14th over of the first innings. On the very first delivery, Malik who was bowling round the wicket bowled a good length delivery and pitched the ball on the off-stump line. Shanto seemed to be in two minds and in the end decided to defend the ball after completely getting carried away by the pace.
The move backfired as the ball went past his outside edge and disturbed his furniture. The off stump went for a walk and the delivery bowled by Umran Malik to dismiss Najmul Hossain Shanto was recorded at 151 kmph.

It now remains to be seen how many more scalps will Malik be able to register in his wickets tally in this contest as the Men in Blue look forward to restricting the hosts to a manageable total. At the same time, it also remains to be seen whether skipper Rohit Sharma who had earlier injured himself while fielding at slips be able to take any further part in this contest.
Should Rohit be ruled out due to unavoidable circumstances then India will be a batter short in their second innings which could leave them in a spot of bother.
