England's horrible batting collapse on the third morning of the second Ashes Test at Lord's was highlighted by a disappointing look on the iconic Geoffrey Boycott's face. The former cricketer buried his face in his hands after Harry Brook threw away his wicket, following an unnecessary shot in the morning session. Boycott opened up on his reaction in a Twitter exchange.

Pat Cummins-led Australia fought their way back into the contest after a strong finish to the second day by the home side. Mitchell Starc removed English skipper Ben Stokes with the very second delivery of the third day. With Stokes back in the hut, the crowd at Lord's expected a rebuild from a well-set Harry Brook and the incoming Jonny Bairstow.

However, the young dasher continued with his expansive shots, eventually finding the hands of Aussie skipper Pat Cummins after his brisk half-century. Brook's dismissal induced a distraught reaction from former England cricketer and batting icon Geoffrey Boycott, who was keeping a keen eye on the proceedings from the stands. His reaction took social media by storm as several former English cricketers aimed their frustration at England's reckless batting approach.

"Yes it does, batting without brains. Chatting to my captain Mike Brearley," Boycott said, responding to his viral reaction on Twitter.

Australia in the ascendancy after England's batting collapse

England lost their remaining six-wicket by adding just 46 runs on the third day to hand a considerable 91-run lead to the Aussies. The visitors, in their second innings, started steadily and have seen their lead swell past 221 runs with eight wickets still remaining in the shed. Despite rain halting Australia's progress in the final hour of play on the third day, the visitors have got a firm grip on the proceedings.
