David Warner's return to BBL after a nine-year gap hasn't been great. He scored 19 runs in the previous game and bagged a second-ball duck on Sunday (January 15) while playing for Sydney Thunder. The team faced Hobart Hurricanes in their 11th game of the season and needed the southpaw to go big. However, Warner's return hasn't been fruitful so far with the man scoring only 19 runs in two matches.
After getting a feel of BBL in the previous game, many expected the southpaw to go big in this game. But pace bowler Riley Meredith had other ideas. He took the new ball in his hands and managed to castle David Warner in the first over itself.
He came steaming in to deliver the final ball of the over and bowled an absolute peach to breach the batter's defence. It turned out to be a yorker which Warner least expected and to make things worse, the ball swung in the air to disturb his furniture.

Sydney Thunder post 135 runs in 20 overs
Sydney Thunder could never recover from the early. They lost as many as four wickets in the powerplay and were reeling at 24/4 at one stage. However, Olivier Davies stood tall for his side to score 45 runs off 36 balls with three fours and two sixes. Ben Cutting and Chris Green were the only other two batters to reach the 20-run mark with the bat. In the end, they were bundled out for just 135 runs in 20 overs.
Nathan Ellis was the star bowler for the Hurricanes picking up four wickets while Patrick Dooley and Riley Meredith returned with three and two wickets respectively.
