Warner to play three games for Sydney Thunder this season
David Warner had signed a two-year deal with Sydney Thunder for a massive amount ahead of last season of the BBL The destructive opener will make a total of three appearances for the Thunder, who are currently placed seventh in the eight-team points table with a solitary win from seven games.
In spite of the fact that the Chris Green-led side have only a slim chance of reaching the knockout stage, they would miss the services of the 37-year-old for those games as he will head to UAE to take part in the forthcoming ILT20. In addition, the legendary southpaw is expected to return from UAE to join Australia's T20I squad against West Indies. He might have remained available in the shortest format ahead of a final international retirement call after the highly-anticipated ICC T20 World Cup slated to commence in June in the West Indies and USA.
In contrast, Sydney Sixers, who are aiming for a playoff spot, are expected to put up a stellar show in the forthcoming game and will have the services of ace batter Steven Smith. The Moises Henriques and Co. are currently in third place, winning four of their eight games so far this season.
