On former India captain MS Dhoni’s 42nd birthday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sent out a special wish by compiling a 70-second video of the wicketkeeper-batter. The clip was a compilation of several six-hitting moments from the games that Dhoni represented India in during the course of his career.

The video begins with MS Dhoni’s six off Andre Russell’s delivery from a T20I game between India and the West Indies from 2016. The video ended with MS Dhoni’s six off Mitchell Starc from India’s 2019 ODI World Cup game against Australia. The clip also showed the then-India skipper Virat Kohli’s reaction to Dhoni’s six as the former was left stunned after witnessing the 87-metre humongous six.

Here's the video:

Though there was no clip of MS Dhoni's 2011 World Cup-winning six, that shot still remains to be one of the most iconic sixes hit by the legendary batter. In the summit clash against Sri Lanka, Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir played a pivotal role with the bat. The skipper remained unbeaten on 91 off 79 deliveries and scored the winning runs to take his side home at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The wicketkeeper-batter announced his international retirement on August 15, 2020, and since then has only participated in the Indian Premier League. Dhoni recently attained glory when he led Chennai Super Kings to victory in the IPL 2023 final against Gujarat Titans. With the win, CSK equalled Mumbai Indians' record of most IPL titles, taking their tally to five. Dhoni will be back in the yellow kit for the 2024 edition of the IPL, which might as well be his last.
