The Indian team made a huge stride towards sealing their semi-final spot in the ongoing T20 World Cup after edging past a spirited Bangladesh outfit to secure their third victory of the tournament. The thrilling victory came on the back of KL Rahul and Virat Kohli's glittering half-centuries, along with the new ranked no.1 T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav's scintillating cameo. Kohli and Suryakumar indulged in a heartwarming moment on Instagram after the nail-biting encounter.
The former Indian skipper opened his shoulders when Bangladesh got rid of the dangerous Suryakumar Yadav, who toppled Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan to claim the top spot in the latest ICC T20I rankings for batters in the lead-up to the match. Both the Indian batters, who share an immense spirit of camaraderie, were involved in an endearing moment on Instagram. Kohli posted a picture with his teammates in the aftermath of the win via his Insta handle reading, "Character & Conviction."
Suryakumar Yadav commented on the post with, "Fire hai." Kohli replied to the comment by saying, "Suryakumar bhau sabse upar #1," referring to the Indian batter's latest feat of climbing to the top of the ICC rankings.
Kohli and Suryakumar provided the impetus to the Indian innings against Bangladesh
Coming to the match, the Bangladeshi bowlers were on top of the proceeding in the early phase of the match after dismissing the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma cheaply. But his dismissal did not deter his opening partner KL Rahul who showcased his hitting abilities to silence his critics. While Rahul was doing his thing from the other end, Virat Kohli built his innings in typical Kohli fashion.
Kohli's innings pushed India to a strong finish after which the bowlers held their nerve to survive a breathtaking assault from Litton Das to secure a win by five runs. Arshdeep Singh was once again the star of the show as the youngster showed tremendous maturity at the death during a tense finale.
