Star India fiery pacer Jasprit Bumrah seemed ecstatic about receiving a shout-out from the renowned band Coldplay's lead singer, Chris Martin. Notably, during a concert in Mumbai, Martin specially mentioned Bumrah while stopping his act in the middle of the concert.
He funnily pointed out that the Indian pacer was waiting backstage to play along with him. Moreover, he added that the band needed to wrap up the show as quickly as possible to let Bumrah have his moment. Notably, the electrifying concert took place on Saturday.
"Hold on, we have to finish the show because Jasprit Bumrah wants to come and play backstage," said Martin in an earlier viral video from the concert.
"He says he needs to bowl at me now. We'll ask him to wait 15 minutes," the renowned band leader further added.
Now after getting recognition from such a big band and musician, Team India's bowling leader did not fail to notice the gesture of Chris Martin. The fans too seemed in awe of Martin for acknowledging Bumrah in a rather unexpected but special way. Hence Bumrah took to his social media to appreciate and thank Martin and Coldplay for getting the shout-out.
"This made me smile! Incredible vibe at the @coldplay concert in Mumbai (from what I've seen here) and even more special to be mentioned." Bumrah wrote on his 'X' handle.

Meanwhile speaking of Jasprit Bumrah, the premier Indian pacer last featured in the Sydney Test against Australia. However, on the final day, he exempted himself from bowling further due to back spasms. As a result, he did not play in that Test further. Since then he has been away for his rehabilitation and consulted his doctor.

However, speculations have been doing the rounds regarding his participation in the upcoming ICC mega event, Champions Trophy 2025. However, amid uncertainties, Bumrah was included in Team India's squad, which was announced by the BCCI Chief Selector, Ajit Agarkar. He addressed the status of the speedster during the recent press conference held to announce the Indian squad.
"We'll probably hear more over the next week or so about his fitness. It would have been nicer if BCCI had (given the update), I might say the wrong thing here. I know he was asked to offload for five weeks of bowling, which is early first week of February, if I'm not wrong," Agarkar said during the press conference.
