Australian all-rounder Cameron Green recently shared an update after undergoing back surgery. The 25-year-old posted pictures of his recovery journey.
Green, who has featured in 28 Tests, 28 ODIs, and 13 T20Is, suffered a setback during the Australia-England ODI series last month. Green made the call to undergo lower spine surgery in New Zealand after suffering his fifth stress fracture during the previous tour.
Green appeared in good spirits in his social media update he posted pictures of him enjoying a post-surgery coffee walk. Meanwhile, his road to recovery is likely to see him miss out on cricketing action for more than six months.

I hope it’s a speedy recovery: Marnus Labuschagne
The procedure, performed by renowned surgeons Grahame Inglis and Rowan Schouten, involved inserting screws and a titanium cable into Green's lower back. This technique, which has been successful for other cricketers like Jason Behrendorff and James Pattinson, is used to stabilize the stress fracture and prevent future occurrences.
Green will miss Australia's upcoming five-match Test series against India, set to begin on November 22 in Perth. His unavailability will create a huge void in the team taking on a challenging Indian side. His teammate Marnus Labuschagne opened up on Green's surgery and his return.
“You always feel bad for people when they get injured, especially when it’s someone you’re close with and someone that’s a big part of our Test team. But you never know, there is always a silver lining with everything that happens and we’re not sure what that is yet, but maybe with a bit of time of, and a bit of rest, he can come back even better than the Cam Green we have seen. Obviously, I hope it’s a speedy recovery,” Labuschagne told WACA Ground.
