Veteran India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik was amazed by England’s recent dominance over Pakistan in the recently concluded three-match Test series. Ever since Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum have taken over the responsibility to revamp England, the team is playing extraordinary cricket in the longest format of the game and has absolutely dominated all the teams they have played so far.

The Three Lions have won nine out of their last ten Test matches under the new leadership and with the series win over Pakistan, they have now established their authority away from home as well. With that emphatic win, the discussions of next year’s Ashes have already begun on social media.

In the last edition of the great rivalry, Australia completely dominated and humiliated England and won the series 4-0. Thus, the English team would be gunning to change that and finally bring the trophy home after eight long years.

Considering England’s recent form and Australia’s quality, 37-year-old Dinesh Karthik is very excited and is waiting for the summer to begin as he is set to return to the commentary box for Ashes 2023. Interestingly, he made his commentary debut for Sky Sports in 2021 before making a return to international cricket.

“What an amazing series win by England! Cannot wait for the Ashes to begin this summer & be a part of @SkySports. It's gonna be one hell of a ride! Well done @Bazmccullum @benstokes38!” the cricketer tweeted on Wednesday.

I obviously have my eye on the Ashes: Ben Stokes

Next year’s Ashes is going to be one of the most important chapter’s of Ben Stokes’ career. The 31-year-old is not someone who plans ahead of his time but he recently revealed that the all-rounder is keeping an eye on Ashes.

“I obviously have my eye on the Ashes and have got little things about that in the back of my head,” Stokes said after white-washing Pakistan on their home turf.

“We will just continue to grow as team, spend more time here as a unit, and keep enjoying having fun, playing cricket with a smile on our face and win as much as we can,” the cricketer added.
