Team India is presently preparing for the forthcoming T20 World Cup, which will begin on October 16 in Australia. On October 23, India will play their eagerly anticipated match against archrival Pakistan to open their campaign at the marquee event. For the T20 fiesta, the Indian team has already arrived in Australia and began their preparations on Friday.

Team India has been training in Perth in Australia, and their main aim is to get those players accustomed to the conditions who haven’t experienced the Australian conditions. On Saturday, the BCCI posted a video of Yuzvendra Chahal hosting Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Hooda, and Harshal Patel on his famous ‘Chahal TV’.

While the players indulge in some fun conversations, Chahal was seen teasing Harshal Patel, who tried to answer a question in English. Chahal questioned Harshal about how it felt to wear the India jacket before the team left Mumbai, to which the pacer began started responding in English. Answering the question, Hooda said: “When I wore the blazer, I obviously felt very proud, but at the same time I was nervous too.”

When Chahal turned the mic to Harshal Patel, he started answering in English saying: “When you war a uniform, you’re part of a team….” and that is the spinner interrupted him to jokingly say “Chahal TV Hindi mein hai (Chahal TV is in Hindi).” All the four players had a good laugh before Patel started answering in Hindi.

India's hunt for Bumrah's replacement

India had previously confirmed a 15-player squad along with four reserves, but only 14 players have traveled to Australia alongside 16 members of the staff, including coach Rahul Dravid. The player who did not travel was Jasprit Bumrah, who had previously made the team but was later forced to withdraw from the competition due to a back ailment.

Bumrah had recently returned from injury, but he was only able to participate in two games against Australia before being sidelined yet again. India has not yet revealed who will play in the major competition in place of them. Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar, both of whom are standby players, had been in contention to make it to the main squad.

As per recent reports, it is said that Shami is set to join the main squad in Australia. Chahar, who marked his return to international cricket after a long injury break, has been doing very well in the white-ball format, but he sustained an injury during the recently concluded T20I series against South Africa, which forced him to head back to the NCA, in Bengaluru, for rehabilitation.
