The coveted 50-over mega cricket event Champions Trophy (CT 2025) will commence from February 19. After winning the T20 World Cup 2024 in June, India will be hoping to bring another ICC silverware home. The upcoming mega event has become much more important for the Indian team after a disastrous run in Tests and being ousted from the World Test Championship 2025 final.
Also, for a stalwart like Virat Kohli, the event has become a chance of redemption while he is going through a run draught in the longer format. Subsequently, the 12-yearly religious festival, Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 is underway in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj. Taking a holy dip in Triveni Sangam during the event is considered auspicious and believed that taking a dip would fulfill wishes along with absolving sins and grant moksha (liberation).
Having said that, an ardent Kohli fan took a dip in the holy water and wished the batter would score at least 5-6 centuries in the tournament. After going through a rough patch, the fans awaited Kohli’s 81st century, and the batter made it possible with a sensational Ton in the Perth Test against Australia. India will kick start their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign with a game against Bangladesh on February 20, at the Dubai International Stadium, in Dubai.
